Dr. Richard Morales teaches history at South.  He's well-known for "coming alive" in the classroom.  When asked about this, he tells a story of an early mentor who used to say "teachers cannot simply be teachers -- they must also be entertainers."  With a grin, he says that "if the students aren't awake they cannot learn anything."  It's easy to believe Dr. Morales when he says he loves teaching.
